For Happy Earth Day 2026, Brilliant Kids Montessori Childcare Centre brought the idea of caring for the Earth into the classroom in a gentle, hands-on way. Our Infants explored colour and texture. Our Toddlers painted with busy hands. Our 3–5 yrs room created planet art with little hearts. The day also included circle time, where our teacher used a globe to help the children talk about the world we share.

This was not a big lecture. It was a day of simple materials, warm guidance, and real participation.

Tiny Hands, Calm Colour, and Early Curiosity

Care for the Earth can start as a small moment of noticing.

In our Infant room, the children explored blue paint, paper circles, and cardboard tubes in a calm art activity. Some children touched the paint with careful fingers. Some held the tube and watched the colour move across the paper. Others looked closely at the materials before joining in.

At this age, the process matters more than the final picture. The children were feeling, reaching, pressing, and observing. These quiet actions helped them take part in Earth Day at their own pace.

Toddlers Turn Paint Into Purpose

When little hands are busy, learning is already happening.

Our Toddler room used blue and green paint to create Earth-inspired art. The children worked with brushes, fingers, paper plates, and shared table materials. Some pressed their hands into the paint. Some moved a brush across the plate. Some watched the colour spread and then tried again.

These actions may look simple, but they ask a lot from a young child. A Toddler has to look, reach, grip, press, wait, and decide what to do next. The children also had a chance to create near one another. They shared the table, used the same paint trays, and worked side by side. Earth Day gave our Toddlers a bright reason to practise focus, hand control, and classroom awareness in a joyful way.

3–5 yrs Art With Heart

Children understand care when they can see it, hold it, and make it.

In our 3–5 yrs room, the children created Earth Day artwork using blue and green planet shapes, dark paper, white paint marks, and pink hearts. The artwork gave them a clear visual idea: the Earth is something we can care about.

Some children held up their work with proud smiles. Some focused on adding small details. Some worked quietly at the table while others shared materials nearby. They were making their own pieces, but they were also learning in the same space, watching one another, and sharing the flow of the classroom. The activity supported creativity, care, and a stronger sense of belonging.

During circle time, our teacher used a globe to help the 3–5 yrs room talk about the planet we share. The children sat together on the classroom mat, listened, watched, and joined the moment as a group.

That circle time brought the heart of the day into one quiet classroom moment. Earth Day was not only about paint or crafts. It was also about helping children notice that the world is bigger than one room, and that learning can happen when we sit together and pay attention.
